Garvey was not alone in moving to photographic advertising images in the 1960s. This example from 1961 is a brave attempt but seems to lack the vitality of earlier periods.

This 1920s advertisement was part of a series showing the value of a Howard watch, using finely judged illustrations of important life events where such a watch would be appreciated.

The India Tyres factory in Inchinnan dates to 1930 and is (still) an Art Deco masterpiece. The linking, here in 1949, of impressive architecture to impressive tyres is simple but effective.

A straightforward advertisement from Kenwood in 1964 makes clever use of colour photography in panels to show what a Kenwood mixer can do. Even here, simple photos have been staged to bring out the key points.
