Dewar’s White Label provided a striking and appropriate image to promote its Scotch Whisky. A simple but highly effective 1952 advertisement for the Scottish fashion house Daly and Sons of Glasgow. The copy is effusive, but the image of classic elegance draws the reader in. In this 1949 advertisement Jack Barclay promotes its retailing credentials – but the car is coachbuilt by its subsidiary James Young, and subtly promotes this bespoke service.
